Charlie Joe
A couple of years ago, my maternal grandmother passed away after battling many health issues, not the least of which were a series of mini-strokes. When my dad first told me that she had "mini-strokes," I nearly blew my milk out my nose, b/c that just sounds made up, doesn't it? "Dad, how's Gina?" "Oh, she's OK. I'm just on my way out to work & she's having one of her mini-strokes." "OK....um.....waitaminute...."
Apparently, a mini-stroke is a real diagnosis, and apparently, it isn't too serious - at least not so serious that you'd miss work if someone was suffering from one.
But that's not the story I came to tell - my grandmother always used to call me "Charlie Joe." I've also had a deep, deep affinity for Charlie Brown; I can relate to the Kite Eating Tree, the football pulled out from under my toe, being called a blockhead and crushes on red headed girls. I never had a dog that slept on top of his house, but I digress. Today's Mad Paint Masterpiece is me as I see me as Charlie Brown - Charlie Joe:
